Integrate the Electrical, computer and engineering technology of the National Chiao Tung University team and the scientific research experience of foreign teams. We establish precision diagnosis and treatment evaluation with an organ-on-chips bionic system. Our team has established a Lung-on-a-chip system for health assessment of suspended particulate matter to complete the platform development of the entire air pollution health assessment model. It includes a bionic alveolar experimental model and respiratory simulation system. This novel system can propose corresponding pollutant toxicology, exposure assessment and dose response curve database for lung health risk assessment. Also, the platform can used to explore the health problems caused by fine suspended particles on the human respiratory system (alveolar tissue) for provide favorable clues to bring more directions and possibilities for next drug development and treatment strategies.
Results:
The research results won the 2019 " FutureTech Demo and Breakthrough Award " from the Ministry of Science and Technology (The school’s youngest award-winning team this year), and was selected as a featured team in the FutureTech Exhibition, and interviewed on the live broadcast platform with Minister Liang-Gee Chen. Also become a visiting technology stagnation station for the VIP exhibitors and ambassadors stationed abroad.
Besides many international journal papers, more than ten conference papers have been published at domestic and international conferences and won the conference paper award.
The research results have been reported by domestic Chinese Television Service, The Liberty Times, Economy Daily News and Yahoo News.
Signed a cooperation agreement with IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in the United States in February 2019, and conducted long-term exchanges with doctoral students.
Successfully established industry-academic cooperation with domestic companies such as WeSchool, Mao Lian Hong Advertising Enterprise, Big BRIGHT Machinery Precision, Tian-Huan Ultrasonic, and foreign companies such as PreSens Precision Sensing GmbH, SCIREQ.
