National Chiao Tung University today (25th) and Wistron Corporation established the "Wistron-Chiao Tung University Embedded Artificial Intelligence Research Center" (e-AI RD Center), which will focus on "embedded artificial intelligence technology" and "big data computing analysis" , "Artificial Intelligence Continuous Learning" and other key technologies are researched and developed together with industry projects to promote the optimization of industry-academic ecology, application of results and talent cultivation, and use R&D technology to solve the problems faced by product development, so that the University’s R&D technology can exert influence and assist Taiwan manufacturers to reach the goal of industrial intelligence upgrading.

The director of the center, Professor Jiun-In Guo, said that the Department of Electronic Engineering and the Institute of Electronics of National Chiao Tung University have been deeply involved in the field of embedded AI systems for many years. The Intelligence Vision System Laboratory (NCTU iVS Lab) under his control has developed a number of AI technologies with competitive advantages, including the AI model building platform and nearly 100 million labeled graphics, embedded AI model algorithms, and smart unmanned vehicle systems. In the future, it can be extended to smart computing systems and applications based on high-performance AI SoC chips, combined with 5G communication technology, Cooperating with Wistron''s industrial planning and upgrading to a University-level R&D center, we hope to jointly incubate new startup companies and drive the expansion of markets such as smart manufacturing, smart medical care, and 5G enterprise networks.
